More on the Microsoft vs the US Government Privacy Case PDF Print E-mail

September 18, 2015 – Earlier this month we wrote about the court case in which Microsoft is trying to prevent the US Government from gaining access to email messages stored on servers in Ireland. The Justice Department is claiming that a court order from a US court provides it with the authority to force the company to turn over the email messages in question. But Microsoft is claiming that the federal government needs to seek the information using European Union courts; a prospect that the government doesn’t like because European privacy laws are much more strict than those found here in the United States. Now CBS has released a report with an interesting analysis of the case that we thought would interest our readers.
