February 5, 2015 – Anthem has disclosed that hackers managed to get into the company’s computer network and gain access to some of the personally identifiable information on 80 million current and former customers of the company. Data on employees of Anthem was also breached. The breach is one of the largest in history.
ACCESS advises anyone who is a current or former Anthem customer to pay close attention to their credit reports and credit card bills. While no medical information was breached, enough data was stolen for thieves to commit financial identity theft.
