ACCESS, American Consumer Credit Education Support Services, is a non-profit, tax exempt 501(c)(3) consumer advocacy group whose primary purpose is to disseminate credit education information and assistance to the general public.

ACCESS was formed in 1998 by serveral credit professionals who were concerned about the adverse trends occuring in personal privacy and credit reporting. They watched credit move from helping individuals achieve "the American Dream" to "the American Nightmare".

Mired in debt and faced with little options, individuals are turning to bankruptcy like never before. While bankruptcy may help the situation for a few years, many times people find themselves even worst off six years down the road - when money is necessary for children's college, family car, or home mortgage.

Our goal in providing this website is to "help you - help yourself." The information you will find here is unbiased and untainted by financial gain.

While there is no easy fix today. We hope that by forming this group, and inviting others to participate, we will become more educated and better able to change the current climate of abuse.
