Massive Data Breach Exposes Information on 191 Million American Voters

December 30, 2015 – As if there hadn’t been enough data breaches in 2015, just before the year’s end we have another one. In fact, we have what may be the larges single data breach ever announced; 191 million Americans in a single database. The breach, which was exposed two days ago, included names, addresses and other personal details on every registered voter in the United States. Although it didn’t include social security numbers, determined identity thieves may still be able to use it to commit fraud. The video below provides more information.

California’s Attorney General has announced that she is investigating the breach and who is responsible for it. The state is one of the few that protects voter records. In most states, registration data is freely available.
